This month, it’s another violent, road-movie. While many might consider it fairly tame by today’s standards, it was quite shocking when it came out in 1967. The juxtaposition of the beautiful cinematography and the casting of major Hollywood stars in a film that features brutal scenes that would seem more at home in a low-budget exploitation flick was a subversive hint at the impending breakdown of the studio system and the 1970’s film renaissance on the horizon…
